If you leave.

"If you leave, don't look back"

"I touch you once, I touch you twice, I won't let go at any price"

I am feeling pretty I pink on such a rainy day while listening to my favorite song from the movie.

If you leave by OMD.

When songs get stuck in your head, you just want to live within the words.

New found body image.

For almost all my life I have been on the smaller scale of body sizing. I may not have always been the smallest but I was described as skinny. But here lately I have began noticing changes in my body.  My size small skirts, and dresses are starting to be tight and uncomfortable. Perhaps I am finally gaining the 15 pounds I should have gained in college or maybe my food choices are starting to in areas that I shouldn't want them to. Regardless of the reason I feel like I am faced with two options. One, work out, change my diet and eating habits to lose the extra weight I have gained or I could embrace the changes.
I am choosing to embrace the changes. A crazy thought, yes, but I think it is important to realize that I am almost 25 years old and I no longer have the body of a 17 year old girl. The new curvy figure I'm quickly gaining should be celebrated and I do not want to make myself feel like I need to look a certain way. Yes, I believe in being heathy and maintaining a healthy life but I refuse to go back to being close to a stick.
My body will change over the course of my life time and I do not want to waste my time trying to control something that is completely natural.

Book Wishlist

Just a few books I want to read and add to my bookshelf.

New Beauty Routine

I like wearing make up just as much as the next person, but I'm starting to wonder if the foundation I put on is causing my complexion to look a little dirty. I don't mean the brand or kind I use, I mean foundation in general. I work in an environment where sometimes I sweat on my face more, touch my face with greasy hands, etc....and while those things alone may be causing my skin to look a "gross" I do not want to add to the problem.

So, my solution is to give up foundation, completely. It may seem like a pointless act but I strongly feel like this is a good idea. I will no longer be adding to my clogged pores, and I only have to worry about washing the everyday dirt from my face. I also, like the idea of having clean skin, instead of I'm trying to cover up every freckle, and imperfection that I have, look.
To begin this journey to clean skin, I am throwing away my foundations, and washing my face everyday.

Right now, I am using Biore Warming Anti-Blackhead cleanser but once I'm out of it, I will probably go back to using St. Ives Apricot Scrub.  I used it for the longest time and I think it works much better.  I think this will be a much better beauty routine for myself. I wont have to worry about falling sleep in my makeup or being too lazy to take it off.

Simple D.I.Y headband

When ever I get bored I like to make things. Here lately, I'm more into simple quick crafts. Today, I made a simple headband with a foam star sticker and ribbon.
I purchased foam star stickers at the dollar store to decorate candles and found some that were left over.

First, I measured the ribbon to fit my head. I left enough to tie a bow at the bottom.

35 inches was long enough to to comfortably tie a bow.

I then decided where I wanted to place the star. Since, the back was sticky, I placed it on the ribbon. It didn't stick when I took off the ribbon so I had to mark where I wanted it to go.

To finish, I sewed a few stitches to hold the star in place.

And ta-da! A simple and cute headband! I also, glued a smaller star to a Bobby bin to create a tiny hair pin.

I can't wait to wear this headband during the holidays.

Vintage dress.

I got this vintage dress while I was in Nashville. I love the colors and it reminds me of something you would see Zooey Deschannel in.

Movie Monday -- Ruby Sparks

Instead of music Monday, I'll be posting movie Monday. Maybe just for today, maybe I'll switch it up. I haven't decided.
I recently watched Ruby Sparks. It was possibly one of the cutest movies I've seen in awhile. Calvin is a writer, who is experiencing writers block. His shrink gives him a writing assignment based on a dream he had about a girl. After writing about the girl for a few days he wakes to find her living in his home. Of course this is a freaky situation and after realizing she is a real person, he goes on to have a relationship with her. But since she is from his own mind, he quickly discoveres that he can control her by writing about her.
A very good idea to explore for anyone who has ever wanted their partner to give them what they want, if you ask me. Things don't always work out even if you are in control.

First Pair.

I recently purchased my first pair of Dr. Marten boots. I am in love with them. I wasn't looking forward to paying over $100 for shoes that I was unsure I would wear often, so I decided to find a floral pair on Amazon, for less. I can't wait to wear them when it gets really cold outside, I don't think I will have much to worry about when it comes to slipping. I apologize for the poor quality in the photo, I'm just super excited.

Nighttime poetry.

I was about to fall asleep when I heard a moaning noise, or what I thought was a moaning noise, outside. It was only the wind and passing cars but here is what came flooding into my mind:

I hear a monster moaning outside, you better run for your life, below the window he sleeps, hoping to hide in your thoughts and keep, the nighttime in your eyes, he cries, and cries, don't make a sound, don't make a peep.

--goodnight world.
